The Adams family genealogy was filed in the museum in the summer of
1996 by Mr. Alvah B. Adams, who provided additional information on the
bible by mail, and who gave his permission for this transcription to
be filed in the Bible Archives.

In his letter of Nov. 18, 1996, he writes in part: "The original is
written on 5-1/2" x 9", lightly ruled paper. Upon re-reading it this
evening my eye caught the "I Alvah Adams" in the second paragraph and
assumed he was the author. After giving it more thought, it seems more
logical that all but the first paragraph is a direct transcript from
the Bible mentioned, written by Joshua Fourth to his brother Joseph
Alvah."

at Sarnia Ont. Canada --

I Alvah Adams was born in
Bastard Tp. District of Johnstown
Ont. Nov. 23, 1805. [next is in different hand]--Died June 17, 1884

Hester Bailey (wife of the above)
was born in Cornwall Ont. Sept. 22
1808 -- died June 25, 1835 in Mat-
ilda now Iroquois Ont. Canada.

Hester B. Madden (second wife
of above) was born in Augusta Twp.
Grenville Co. was born March 29, 1810-
died in great peace at Bowmanville
Oct. 6. 1845-- was taken to Augusta and
buried her revered Rev. Thomas [sic]
