FOSTER BIBLE RECORDS
The pages of the Bible containing the births and marriages were destroyed by Federal soldiers during the Civil War, according to Mrs. Edward W. Foster, owner of the Bible, 2108 West End Ave., Nashville, Tenn. The following record copied by Mrs. Albert Ewing III.
Ephraim McNairy Foster, died at White's Creek Spring Aug. 10, 1827; age 3 years 4 months 18 days.
Jane M. Foster, consort of E. H. Foster, died at Mansfield, near Nashville, Tenn., Nov. 12, 1847; age 55 years 1 month 18 days.
Julia A. Hood, consort of P. M. Hood and daughter of E. H. and J.M. Foster, died at Florence, Ala., Oct. 13, 1848; age 18 years 8 months 27 days.
Jane E. Cheatham, consort of E. G. Cheatham and daughter of E. H. and J. M. Foster, died at Nashville Tenn., June 20, 1851; age 29 years 7 months.
Ephraim H. Foster, died near Nashville Sept. 6, 1854; age 59 years 11 months 20 days.
John D. Foster, died at New Orleans, La., Nov., 1867; age 41 years 8 months.
Robert C. Foster III., died at Nashville, Tenn., Dec. 28, 1871; age 53 years 3 months 15 days.
John Dickinson, died at Nashville July 7, 1815, son of Elihu and Belinda Dickinson.
Belinda E. Dickinson, died Aug. 23, 1816, at Franklin, Tenn.
Henry Dickinson, died near Nashville Sept. 14, 1845, at 6:15 o'clock a.m.
Jane Mebane Foster, consort of Eph. H. Foster, died at Mansfield, near Nashville, Nov. 12, 1847, at 3 o'clock p.m.
Funeral Announcement Pasted in Bible -- "The friends and
acquaintances of E. H. Foster are invited to attend the funeral of his son,
Ephraim, on tomorrow morning, 9 o'clock, Saturday, Aug. 11, 1827."
