Howard Bible
The Holy Bible Containing the Old and New Testaments.
Printed by D. Fanshaw, New York, 1820.
Many pages are missing, making me wonder if a major
section of genealogy was removed. Inserted within
is an obituary W. F. Stanton of Rochester, N.Y.
This Bible was transcribed by and is in the
possession of Tracy St. Claire, . tracy@stclaire.org

Tribute to the memory of Mrs. Hannah C. Fletcher,
who died in Claremont Dec. 2d, 1870.
[Written expressly for Diantha H. Howard, sister of
the deceased.]
Thy radiant star has ceased to shine,
Still shall its fire on fancy's vision glow,
And memory shed her moon-beams on thy sun,
Although it beams no more below.
Though early vanished hence, an angel band
Marked thy swift progress through the realm of night,
And hailed thy rising in a fairer land,
Watched the last lustre of thy parting light.
And while on mind's recording page I view
Thy polished graces and thy virtues fair,
Thy wisdom mild, or Heaven taught piety,
A vestige of thy worth, would share.
