DEATHS
  Lieut. Alexander Officer, died May 20, 1862, at Columbus, Miss. His tombstone 
  was marked with the first letters of his name.
  Cynthia, wife of Alexander, Sr., died Sept. 22, 1877 (Wounded severely by Union 
  soldiers during the War Between the States, as she tried to defend six wounded 
  Southerners harbored in her house. The six were, nevertheless, tied to the gate 
  post and shot. The post still stands with some of the bullets lodged in it, 
  on the William Alexander Officer homestead in Overton County, later known as 
  Gib Boswell Farm.)
  William Alexander Officer, died Sept. 8. 1886.
  John Holford, died March 10, 1912.
